A couple of weeks ago I was at a loss as to what Carter really wanted for Christmas. He basically tells me that he wants whatever he just saw a commercial for and of course there are tons of toy commercials out right now.
I decided to take Carter to Wal-mart to show me some things that would be worthy enough to add to his Christmas list.
Without further ado I present to you…
The Christmas List of a 4 ½ year old:
Fisher-Price Go Diego Go! Extreme Launch and Rescue Pack
Fisher-Price Handy Manny Fix it Phone
Toy Story Talking Buzz Lightyear Action Figure
Matchbox Deluxe Rocky the Robot Truck
Gator Golf
Then he added various Cars and Star Wars toys. What are your kids asking for this year?
I always wonder if one of the hot toys will be something on Carter’s list. I always feel like I need to rush to get shopping for him complete so I don’t miss out on the one thing that he really wants. Do you ever feel like that? What do you think the hot new toy will be this year?

A Little of This, A Little of That
Yesterday was our Thanksgiving Lunch at work. The food was amazing! We had all the traditional fixings and about every type of pie that you could imagine. I wish I had brought my camera because there were so many crock pots on the tables it was comical. One of the girls brought the best rolls ever - she got them at Sam's Club. So good!
Last night I went to Zumba. I sweat my behind off and it felt great! I am going to try another class tonight at a different place.
I was a bit ticked off over a pair of Carter's jeans. When I washed them this weekend part of the button came off. This was probably only the second time he had wore them so it was obviously a defective button. Last night I called Old Navy to see if I needed my receipt to exchange them or if I could just bring them out. I just wanted to replace the jeans and was hoping I wouldn't have to hunt down the receipt. The girl that answered told me that they would not take the jeans back because they become defective after I purchased them. She said if I brought my receipt in they would let me purchase another pair of jeans for the same price as the original pair. Say what?!?!?!?! That just ticked me off. I decided I was going to take the jeans back anyway. I start looking for the receipt, which was pretty easy to find since it had been less than a month since I bought them. When I find it I was relieved to read right on the receipt that you can return defective merchandise with or without a receipt! So today on my lunch hour I am exchanging the jeans.
Also on my lunch hour I am meeting Josh and Carter at one of the new banks in town. They have a program in place to help teach and encourage kids to save money. We are going to open another savings account for Carter. Each time he deposits money into the account he will get to pick a little prize. Carter does fine putting money in his piggy banks but he just never wants to take the money to the bank. His piggy banks are getting full so it is time to empty!
Only 11 more days until we are upgrading our telephones! I am so excited! I can't wait until we have technology at our finger tips.

Weekend Recap
This weekend was nice and relaxing. We spent more time at home than we normally do on the weekend. I love getting things accomplished around the house.
I cleaned out/organized the Hall Closet. I needed to make room for all of Josh’s extra stuff that he brings to and from work. He had just been laying it in the living room and it was driving me crazy. I also made room for our exercise stuff.
Then later on I cleaned out Carter’s closet. I had been wanting to pack up his summer clothes and sort through what I wanted to keep and what can be sold in a garage sale in the spring. Wouldn’t you guess that since I did that the weather was actually really warm 2 days in a row. Carter wanted to wear shorts to church and I had already packed up his dress shorts and they were in the basement.
Saturday afternoon I was feeling a little nostalgic so I took Carter to my former Elementary School to play on the equipment and practice peddling on his bike. It was so weird seeing the exact same playground equipment that I used to play on. Let me tell you it looked old. There was also a newer section of the area with all the bright shiny equipment.

Carter having a good time playing on it all:
After spending over a hour at the playground we went to pick up a few things at Target. We checked out the Halloween clearance section and found that it was 90% off. We picked up 2 costumes for Carter, The Red Power Ranger and Darth Vader. Each of them were only $1.99 – Carter loves dressing up as his favorite characters and playing. He has quite a collection of costumes.
Carter and I were so tired that we laid down to watch a movie and both fell asleep before the movie had gotten too far. We were both wore out from our day.
Sunday we finally made it to Sunday School and Church. Then we ate at Olive Garden with my family. It was tasty. Josh rode his motorcycle to the restaurant since it was such a lovely day. The rest of the day we just lounged around the house. Josh had to work so it was just me and my little guy again. We had to run out to the grocery store to pick up a few things I needed for the green bean casserole that I had to bring to our Thanksgiving Dinner at work. I am really looking forward to that today. The food is always so good.
How was your weekend?

Orphan Sunday
The following was posted on the His Voice for Sudan blog. I think it is important and wanted to share with you.

This Sunday, November 8th, is Orphan Sunday. As you think of the orphans around the world this week, consider the orphans and widows in Southern Sudan. Living in a war torn country brings insecurities and devastation.
By the Lord's great mercy, a partnership between His Voice and EPC of Sudan was formed. Through this partnership, over 200 orphans and over 30 widows have a home, meals and education! If you are interested in ways to partner with us please check out our Partner Page on the His Voice Website.
